Fairplayer

Listen and share music in a decentralized, open source, community based-way

Fairplayer small collective of artists, engineers and music lovers that want a place to listen and support the music we want to hear.

We think that music needs to go back to the communities, both artists and listeners, and we develop free software for them.

Team: Ayman, Macia, Marcel, Guillem, Carles, Sofi, Verisama and much more

Background

We have decided to develop a new software to listen and share music because, although we are aware of very good alternatives to privative platforms, we believe there is still need of streaming tools that are based on decentralization and federation, similar to the Fedivers. In the next weeks, we will be explaining our proposal to create an ecosystem where existing alternatives are integrated.

After a few months of building, and the generous help of artists who have participated in our trial period, https://fairplayer.band is open to the world. If you are an artist that has a Faircamp site, or someone wanting to listen to music from independent artists, come and tell us what you think!

Outputs

Branding

The branding was built based on the idea of music lovers creating an ecosystem to listen music together. It connects music with ecology, and comunal growth. Centered on sustainability, it encourages users to collaborate in building a collective space where sound, community, and environmental responsibility grow side by side.

Web app

We created a platform for listening to music online and, at the same time, an utopian community that helps artists create music.
