Free tools for free artists

Independent social media community governed by users inside of the fediverse.

No ads, no malicious algorithms, no data sales to third parties. We’re organizing to equip ourselves with anti-capitalist tools following the principles of free culture. We want to emancipate ourselves from the proprietary companies that control and monitor the masses. That’s why we have installed (and will continue to install) the tools we need on our servers to work and distribute our art freely, safely, and without advertising.

Team: Marcel Costa, Guillem, Titi and the whole community of anartist

Background

Although i am a late arrival into the project, and i was invited by Guillem back in 2023. The anartist community has received me with open arms. The main objective of this project is to inhabit social networks as artists in a more democratic manner. We organize our work and community via a forum but also we meet in person.

Outputs

Website

Redesigning the website for the anartist community begins with researching user needs—such as portfolio display, collaboration tools, and social interaction—followed by UX planning with wireframes to map intuitive navigation. The UI design was very similar to the previous color palette but with new illustrations and improved fonts.

Jam session

This was an informal, collaborative musical performance where musicians improvise, experiment, and play together spontaneously, without rehearsal. It fosters creativity, connection, and free expression. And allow us to get together.
