Movieraptor is a diary in the fediverse to record and share your opinion about films as you watch them, or just to keep track of films you’ve seen in the past.

Team: Lexicomante

Background

An open-source, decentralized Letterboxd alternative for the Fediverse. Review, rate, and share movies ethically—no ads, no tracking. Built on ActivityPub, it integrates with Mastodon & peers. Community-driven, transparent, and free forever. Started and still working by brayanblanco: github.com/brayanblanco/MovieRaptor

Outputs

Research and discovery

The first step was to gather all the information that we could about the project to better understand what we could achieve. We did a couple of interviews with current users of Letterboxd and users of bookwyrm, because our main assumption is that bookwyrm is the most similar platform in the fediverse to what we wanted to achieve.

Wireframes

We iterated the wireframes with the development team and came up with a first iteration that make sense and focus in delivery the most important functionalities with less amount of development.
