Vámonos Juntas

We're also fed up with toxic social media, so we've moved to a new neighborhood: the fediverse.

Is a collective campaign to promote the use of the fediverse, first get out of twitter and second to find a more democratic way to inhabit the social land-scape

Team: Marta G. Franco, Alien (co-author of the branding), Sara Lane, Rocio Ca-Mora, the good people at REAS and many, many more!

Background

It’s a project created by a group of entities, collectives, and individuals who want to promote and strengthen the fediverse. Its origins lie in the social and solidarity economy, but it has expanded to include people who identify with the values of cooperation, autonomy, sustainability, and respect for open digital communities.

Outputs

Kickoff campaign

On January 20, 2025, we launched the first collective migration campaign. The manifesto was endorsed by more than 218 collectives and individuals, nearly 1,000 Mastodon accounts used the proposed hashtag to identify the introductory messages (#together), and more than 1,200 people joined a mailing list to receive more information.
